Piesa zilei: Carnival of Rust | Poets of the Fall

"Carnival of Rust" este primul single și piesa principală a albumului Carnival of Rust al trupei rock finlandeze Poets of the Fall. A fost lansat în Finlanda pe 22 martie 2006 și în Germania pe 1 decembrie 2006. Single-ul conține două versiuni ale piesei și o înregistrare live a melodiei "Don't Mess With Me" de pe primul album al trupei, Signs of Life.

Mesaj

O ipoteză despre semnificația piesei este că s-ar referi la un bărbat care nu poate renunța la o iubire din trecut. Chiar dacă subiectul afecțiunii sale este deranjat de dragostea pe care i-o poartă, el încearcă să o țină lângă acesta, oferindu-i afecțiunea sa în timp ce ea continuă să-l ignore și să caute în altă parte dragostea pe care și-o dorește. Ea are aventuri de o noapte (posibil cu cei doi violoniști) și poartă un copil. În cele din urmă, renunță la căutare, dar chiar și atunci bărbatul o imploră să-i acorde dragostea. Abia când și el renunță, când Ghicitoarea devine tăcută și nemișcată, ea se întoarce și își dă seama că se poate să-și fi ratat șansa.

Despre trupă

Poets of the Fall (POTF) este o trupă finlandeză de rock din Helsinki. Formația este alcătuită din Marko Saaresto (voce principală), Olli Tukiainen (chitară principală), Markus "Captain" Kaarlonen (clape, producție), Jani Snellman (bas), Jaska Mäkinen (chitară ritmică) și Jari Salminen (tobe, percuție).

Trupa este cunoscută pentru colaborările sale cu dezvoltatorii de jocuri video, în special cu Remedy Entertainment, compunând piese pentru Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (2003), Alan Wake (2010), Alan Wake's American Nightmare (2012), Control (2019) și Alan Wake 2 (2023), ultimele patru într-un stil mult mai heavy și sub pseudonimul Old Gods of Asgard.
